Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

AutoTARA is a research commercialisation project of Coventry University, developing software for automotive cybersecurity threat analysis and risk assessment (TARA). This website is operated on our behalf by our digital agency, Brilliant Red Digital Ltd (Newry, Northern Ireland), as part of a market-validation study under the ICURe Explore programme.

Contact for anything in this notice: Dr Hesam Jadidbonab, Coventry University — ad4953@coventry.ac.uk.

2. What we collect and why

  • Survey responses. If you complete our market survey (hosted by Typeform), we collect the answers you give and, only if you choose to provide them, your name, email address and organisation. We use this to understand market needs for automotive TARA tooling. Lawful basis: consent.
  • Demo bookings. If you book a demonstration (via Microsoft Bookings), we collect your name, email address, organisation and the meeting details you provide. We use this to arrange and follow up the demonstration. Lawful basis: steps taken at your request prior to entering into a contract, and legitimate interest.
  • Website analytics. With your consent, we use analytics and advertising cookies (Google Analytics, Google Ads and LinkedIn Insight Tag) to measure how visitors reach and use this page, including which advertisement brought you here. This data is aggregated and does not identify you to us. Lawful basis: consent, collected through the cookie banner.

We do not sell personal data, and we do not use it for automated decision-making with legal or similarly significant effects.

3. Who processes your data

The following organisations process data on our behalf or as independent controllers of their own services: Brilliant Red Digital Ltd (website operation), Typeform S.L. (survey hosting), Microsoft Ireland (booking and email infrastructure), Google Ireland (analytics and advertising) and LinkedIn Ireland (advertising measurement). Some of these providers may transfer data outside the UK/EEA under appropriate safeguards (UK adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses).

4. How long we keep it

Survey and booking data are retained for the duration of 12 months from May 2026, after which they are deleted or fully anonymised. Aggregated, anonymised findings may be retained in study reports.

5. Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to access, rectify or erase your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent. To exercise any of these rights, contact ad4953@coventry.ac.uk. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk). Coventry University’s Data Protection Officer can be contacted via the details on the Coventry University privacy pages.

6. Cookies

This site uses strictly necessary cookies (which do not require consent) and, only with your consent, analytics and advertising cookies as described in section 2. You can change or withdraw your cookie choices at any time via the cookie settings link in the footer, and you can also control cookies through your browser settings.
